Are you have been in Banjarmasin??!I have lived here for about 5 years, in generally, is not have the potential tourism can be offered in Banjarmasin and surrounds, so for sometimes I feel bored with the situation in here.
But when we will lookin arround, many potential tourism object can be managed well in Banjarmasin, for example that there is a floating market on Kuin village and Martapura there is look like the same place in Bangkok, which is the Kembangan Island monkeys paradise in the middle of Barito Rivers at Banjarmasin, waterfalls are in Loksado and Riam Kanan river, many of channel form small rivers that pass across the Banjarmasin, so the city is called "thousand rivers city" and some other things that actually unique, but not explored.
Actually if the government would like to do a little bit work and manage all things well, Banjarmasin can become a tourism destination like Venice in Europe, especially when the government and the community want to maintain cleanliness and order which is a requirement for a place become potential tourism destination, may be starting with the maintain parking area and cadger in every corner of Banjarmasin, and maintain the beggars, gradually urge the people who live in the river edge to create a 'two terrace', one is overlook to the river and the other is to the road, why is that? because by making the terrace on river front some people will be assume to keep clean for it, not only for a toilet and kitchen, when this happens Banjarmasin will become a beautiful city with a thousand rivers, we can imagine in the afternoon canoeing along the river feel like in Venice and Amsterdam...
